I am currently in the process of making garments for my 'Trashcan Treasures' collection which will be made entirely of recycled materials and shall be showcased at Liverpool Fashion Week on October 18th.

 

Just one of the recycled materials I will be using is Volvic's new 20% plant-based bottles.

I hope that my 'Art Of The Discarded - Trashcan Treasures' collection will bring recycling and fashion together to encourage more people to make that small change that helps to make a big difference.

Plastic Pollution has become a man-made global catastrophe. Over the last 60 years plastic has become central to our lives and as a result mankind has subjected the planet to a tsunami of plastic waste. The scale of the problem is exponential - in the last 10 years the World has used more plastic than it did in the previous 100 years. In New York City alone, 24 million plastic bottles are discarded every week and in 2010 alone produced around 300 million tonnes of plastic; the ridiculous thing is that 50% of it will be used just once.
